The work session will focus on developing a mindfulness of the body and voice. Facing challenges that might lead to the opening and broadening of the actor’s perception towards their animal or biological core and, on the other hand, developing skills of introspection deeply connected with a sense of presence.
How do we develop an actor’s physical training and transform it into mental training?
How do we expand the spectrum of an actor’s presence?
The work is based on group activities, elements of partner training and on individual actions. The common denominator is an attempt to build an internal line of actor’s dramaturgy, both vocal and physical, that is readable from the outside, but immersed in an organic process of search and creation.
Kamila Klamut
Since the mid-1990s she had been closely associated with the Grotowski Institute in Wrocław. In 1996 at the invitation of Grzegorz Bral and Anna Zubrzycki, she took part in forming the Song of the Goat Theatre. Since 1999 she has collaborated with Jarosław Fret, with whom she has been on several expeditions searching for the oldest extant forms of music. She co-initiated the founding of Teatr ZAR, and appears in almost all performances of the ZAR theater, which has been performed in numerous cities around the world. Klamut co-created, with Mariana Sadovska, Camille, a piece inspired by the life and work of French sculptress Camille Claudel, which premiered in the Grotowski Institute in February 2014. Kamila Klamut closely collaborates on the BodyConstitution programme that has been realised by Grotowski Institute within the domain of research in practice. She conducts a workshop Tuning the Body. Awareness focused on working with the actor’s physical presence on stage.
